Fruitful Effort

          Studying Educational Technology 2 was so great! I learned a lot of strategies and techniques that I can apply and use during my teaching in the future^. At the end of the semester I realized that whatever hardships I encountered in these subject at the same time I’m blessed. It’s not because I accomplished and cross the subject but rather I’m become part of it. Become part of the Educational Technology 2 class where I can impart my knowledge in technology. Learning Educational Technology 2 was very useful. If you are interested to learn it’s not impossible that you will fail. Through Educational Technology 2 class we can gain many benefits from the subject. In a simple way we must know to become creative and powerful in using new technology. So that our future learners will not become bored during discussion but to become more active, willing to participate and attentive to listen. As a future educator we must not lock our ideas and not use always the traditional ways of teachings. We are educating in Educational Technology 2 class to learned new high technology ways in teaching so that we can apply and use those learning to have a better teachings in the new generations. 

          We have to ponder and study Educational Technology to become an effective teacher and for a better future of our future learners.

 

Three Basic Food Groups

The title of Exercise 10 was entitled Educational Show. Since we have no experience in making a video, our teacher demonstrated us on how to make an effective video. She taught us first the parts and functions of the Window Movie Maker. Next, she taught us on how to insert variety of effects in video, to import, preview pane, auto- movie and transitions and how to publish the video. After the demonstration it is now our time to shine because we are tasked to make our own educational show by group. We are able to choose our own topic related in elementary lessons.

These exercise served as a remembrance to my classmates. Since it was my first time to be with them in a video play we have shared a lot of memories that we sure that we not forget. From the very beginning of our plan in the flow of our video until we came up in these educational show. I remember my childhood days when I’m with my friends acted and dressed up like a child. These Educational Show we made was very useful in educating the pupils especially the little children in terms of proper food they will take in. The purpose of these video is not only to be entertain, to watch and enjoy but to motivate the pupils and have an additional substantial information that they can apply and use in their everyday life

Justice of Reputation

The title of Exercise 9 was entitled MS Publisher. Our teacher demonstrated and teaches us on how to use MS Publisher windows and gave us instructions and how to apply templates. After the discussion we are tasked to publish our own certificate for our pupil and a classroom program pretending that we are already a licensed teacher. First tasked was to publish a certificate. First step, click All Programs > MS Office then choose MS Publisher and open. Second step, go to Publication Type and click Certificate and numerous of templates will appeared. After choosing template I can create now my certificate. Third step, I click the save button on the menu bar then renamed the file. Next tasked I published was the classroom program. It has same procedure in making certificate but the only different was you have to choose Program publication type.

This exercise was a little bit of excitement and boring. I could say it was a little bit of excitement because it is easy and simple to used, graphics are easily imported and formatted, has a numerous templates, has a professional printing and publishing options, it helps maximize your time and easy customization using design tool. However I could say it was a little bit boring because it was so slow installation process, not particular formats, it has a problematic web publishing and lack of backward compatibility. MS Publisher is very useful in teaching such as using lay- out page techniques can enhance publication, create drawings, can design and recognize pages with new object alignment technology, can be used in picture editing, can easily communicate your message in a variety of publication types and view a full page print preview with a host of page lay- out tools and adjustable print setting with new backstage view.

Run – down Application

The title of Exercise 8 was entitled MS PowerPoint. We are tasked to make our own slide presentation based on the lesson plan we used in Exercise 6 and Exercise 7. Before making the power point presentation we have to make first a story board. It served as a guide of what we had to do so that we not take too much of time in making the slide presentation. We are teaches on how to insert pictures or graphics, sound effects and customized animations. We are free to choose what lay- out we liked to apply, a story board also is a set of pictures which show what will happen in something such as a film, advertisement and presentation that is being planned.

I encountered difficulties in making the slide presentations. The difficulties I encountered are inserting pictures because it need to search images from Google before I inserted to my slide and also applying sound effects and animations on every slides. I have to tried many choices in sound effects and animations before I chose the best and it took a lot of time and a lot of money in paying the hour I spent in the internet cafe  I overcome these kind of difficulties by having long patience in myself. By having a positive thinking that I can do and finished these tasked. Lastly, by having a techniques on making my work faster and easier. Slide presentations facilitate meaningful learning by motivating the pupils because of its attractiveness in color effects, sounds, animations and etc. they will not feel bored because being projected in the slides are only the keywords. They are willing to listen and participate. Cognitive and skill development will be enhanced.

Lurk Predicament

   The title of Exercise 7 was entitled MS Word. Our teacher demonstrated us on how to use MS Word windows and discussed the functions of it. After her discussion we are tasked to make our own lesson plan in a computerized way. We encoded the lesson plan that we used in Exercise 6. To start working my file, first step I click new document button on the menu bar. Second, click the open file button on the menu bar. After encoding my file the third step was to click the save button on the menu bar and renamed documents.

It was easy to encode my lesson plan but there was difficulty that I have experienced. It was not easy for me to insert pictures because it took a lot of time. I could say that it took a lot of time because it was need to adjust the pictures and edit the text before I could proceed to the next. Well, I could say that even it was time consuming I have learned a lot. MS Word application was very useful in educational purposes. Examples, can be used in research papers, summarizes, information dissemination, hand- outs and reports. It is very advantageous to us because it is widely used and supports a number of file types, has many features, has a simple lay- out and can correct grammar and spelling which work simultaneously.

Succinct Crystalline

   The title of Exercise 6 was entitled OHP or Over Head Projector. Before we start to choose the parts of the lesson plan that we made where we had to be written in a transparency sheet, teacher gave us first the four techniques and three principles on how to use the transparency sheets properly. The techniques are as follows: (1) showing pictures, charts or graphs, diagrams, etc. (2) progressive disclosure (3) overlay and (4) showing the three dimensional objects. These are the principles: (1) do not put too much information on a single transparency (2) use a clear systematic lay- out and (3) make sure that all the materials will be seen when the transparency is projected. Our teacher gave us freedom to make our own lay- out considering the four techniques and three principles.

I learned how to become a good and effective user of a transparency sheet. It teaches me to become creative in using variety of techniques and applying the principles. These exercise gave us freedom to choose the techniques we wanted to apply so that as a student and future educator we can expand our ideas in using these OHP and transparency sheets. I have done the tasked in a short period of time because it was so easy and only the key points or words are need to be written on a transparency sheet. Having a knowledge in these kind of exercise might made you a better user.

Feast of the Fishes

The title of Exercise 5 was Non - objective Shapes. It is about blind folding exercise. The first tasked was to covered our eyes by the use of a handkerchief or any cloth. Second, the teacher gave us signal when to start. Third, if the teacher gave already the signal we have to move our marker freely in the white cartolina without breaking. Fourth, after the teacher count from one to ten we have to stop and he has to connect the line where we start and stop. Fifth, we colored the shapes being formed but we do not let the color be the same in the both side. After coloring we made our own title in our output.

This exercise was all about an informal shapes, forms and sizes. It was also building me up to move freely in my life, to know my limitations and to measure my capacity in life that deals on how optimistic and pessimistic I am. So, as a future teacher we must have to expand our positive thinking in using variety of strategies in teaching. Do not lock your ideas and do not practice of being negative in all things. Another view in this exercise was colors emphasized as different people met each day. They are the people whom we have to respect because of our different customs, culture, races and beliefs. The object formed in my worked was different sizes of fishes. That is why I entitled “Feast of the Fishes. “ 

The Tree of Vitality

The title of Exercise 4 was Nine Techniques. It deals with the nine techniques in shading the part of an object that does not reflected by the sunlight. Our teacher let us drew ten trees and in each tree we used one technique but we have to shade only the half part of the tree. The nine techniques we used are the horizontal lines, vertical lines, diagonal lines, cross, zigzag, spiral, circles, dots and smug. The last tasked we performed was the combination of the three techniques that could be applied in shading the half part of the tree.

When I looked the output of my worked it seems so easy to made but the truth as not. I admitted that it was easy to draw an ordinary tree in these exercise but took a lot of time in applying one petty technique in the tree. I felt irritated during these times because my hand was very tired in shading the tree but I learned to have more patience in this kind of activity.  

The Poker Faces

Exercise 3 was entitled Human Face. The first step was to draw an oval shape. Second step, drew a broken lines inside the oval shape vertically and horizontally. Third step was to draw ears outside the oval aligned to horizontal lines. Fourth step was to draw two eyes    inside the oval that aligned to the horizontal lines and nose, mouth and eyebrows that aligned to the vertical lines. Last step, was to form a normal face of a boy and a girl.

The exercise was enjoyable. I did not expect that I could form a human face through drawing. I thought it was difficult but it is not. Following instruction made me smart. Now I can do many forms of human faces by the help of simple instruction and depending to the appearance of the human face I liked to draw. I can improve these skills by constant practice and by striving for balance in sketching the four sense organs so that it will become more attractive.

Darkness Behind Success

Exercise 2 was entitled Bottle and Plants with Shades. Our teacher putted bottle and plants on the top of the table and we are going to draw it. After I drew the bottle and plants, I shaded the part that does not reflected by the sunlight. We drew a shadow meter besides the drawing in order to identify the shadow covered to the bottle and plants.

From the exercise, I met difficulty in sketching the form of the bottle and plants. But I found easy in shading because it is the same when you are coloring. These exercise made my patience long. I learned that even you are not good in drawing if you love your work then you can do better than you expected.

My Intelligent Hallucination

The title of Exercise 1 was Visualization. Our teacher gave us four words to visualize each word in terms of drawing. We are able to create a symbol, and imagine things to interpret the word. Then after we drew, we have to make our own explanation about our drawings. The first word is Unity, I drew the world between the man and a woman that symbolizes unity. I knew that if there is a unity in the world between a man and a woman there will be peace and harmony that be made. The world will always smile. Second word is Power, I drew a holy bible that symbolizes the word power because I knew all the verses found here are the words of God. It was written for us not to lose our hope but to encourage. It is power also because if we read daily the scriptures we will gain more spiritual education that we can apply to eternity. Third word is Love, I drew two rings for one man and one woman. It symbolizes love. It shows that if a girl and a boy ought in the altar, they promised that they not live till death do us part but they live with love in time and for eternity. The last word is Strength, I drew a family that symbolizes as strength because I knew only the family makes us strong hen we are weak and comfort when we are in pain. Our parents are the only best friends where we can trust, share our problems in life and who can only advise us in a good way. Family also encourage us to do more good things in life.

I enjoyed a lot in these exercise because I measured how far I can visualized things. Not only enjoyment I gained but also learning that I can be used in my studies. It enhanced my talents in drawing and sketching. It made me confident in all the things to be positive.
